It's great that this blog has been created, and I generally and heartily applaud the job being done by the 70th precinct. I'm sorry I am unable to attend the next council meeting this month even though I would very much like to.
To say what I would have said then, there has been some commotion on my block in past weeks due to a series of all night parties at the temple at 83 Marlborough Road. These events in and of themselves are fine, but they tend to spill out into Marlborough Road at 2 or 3 in the morning and there is not infrequent public drinking and much noise that sometimes goes on for hours. Since this is usually on a Saturday night I'm sure there is much else going on in the 70th that deserves priority attention, but it would be nice if someone showed up when called if only to calm things down and encourage the revelers to disperse.
Hey Jonathan,
Lots of things brewing apparently with the 70th. I have been asked by some if you post comments. Are there some comments you have not posted? Is that not what this is for?

Hi Nathan,
As you can see from our other posts, I post all comments. The officers of the Community Council chose to moderate comments in order to avoid unpleasant things like spam, non-70th Precinct content, unsolicited advertisements and so forth.
So tell those who have been asking you that they are free to post comments on whatever they would like.
Can we get someone from either the Community Council or the Precinct itself to post some information regarding the recent incident at Argyle and Cortelyou Rds? There have been a number of posts on other websites and neighborhood listserves, some with conflicting information and it isn't exactly clear what happened.
I think its clear there was a stabbing, but was it a random act, a mugging of some sort, a fight between acquaintances, etc?
Some postings indicated that there were two suspects and only one has been caught. Is this true?
Does the Precinct think this indicates a rise in violent crime in the area, or it was an isolated incident?
Thanks.
The best option is to come to our next Community Council meeting on Wednesday, October 29th. There, you can speak with officers from the 70th Precinct as well as Deputy Inspector Monteforte in order to inquire further about this incident and what that means for crime in the community at large.
